After 22 years of service, Connie Gilmore will be retiring from Ozark Electric Cooperative in January 2024. She served as the Janitress at each of the cooperative offices before transferring in 2009 into the Billing Service Department at Ozark Electric’s Mt. Vernon office working as a Cashier. Connie’s most memorable moment of her career was experiencing the 2007 ice storm. “I never cooked so many eggs in my life” Connie jokingly said. During that storm, all office employees worked tirelessly to serve the Ozark Electric and Mutual-Aid line crews by cooking hot meals, washing clothes, and providing them the resources needed to recover from working long days in below freezing temperatures. Connie will miss seeing her co-workers every day, many of whom have become part of her family. She sincerely enjoyed greeting and serving all the regular members who have come by the office over the years. For retirement, Connie plans on watching her granddaughters play basketball and support them in any other activities they pursue.
