Google Bard rebrands to Gemini, inheriting the name of the AI engine that powers it. Gemini does feel like a more accessible name. The bard connection is one that fewer people understood. But maybe, more importantly, the audible impression of gemini feels more pleasing to the ear. The single-syllable, hard-ending construction of bard gives a harsher and less human (at least in English) impression.
