Last week, our CEO Tammy Broaddus, had the opportunity to be a "sidekick" to startup leaders at KU Innovation Park, leading them through a workshop on how storytelling can be used to accelerate the spread of ideas. A key takeaway from the day? Getting ideas adopted begins with your audience answering "YES" to three questions: 1. Does it feel right? 2. Does it make sense? 3. Is it doable? In other words, before you get to the CTA, your audience must move through the CTF (call to feel) and CTT (call to think) first — only then will they take action and adopt your idea as their own. What makes an idea stick? Reinvention. When people can take an idea and make it their own, that’s when you see real, lasting impact. We saw this firsthand with the kindness campaign, Do Unto Others, which was created by?Church of the Resurrection but shared nationally at no cost to other organizations that wanted to implement the campaign. Designed to inspire kindness and decrease division during the election season, the campaign included customizable tools like yard signs, posters, social media assets and more, empowering communities to personalize and share the message. The result? Communities in 46 states brought the campaign to life in their own ways, from hand-painted murals to creative spins like a Do Unto “Otters” mascot, and even gaining recognition on?NPR.
