    I started OvationMR in 2017, and while this isn’t my first rodeo in building a business, it’s undoubtedly the most significant and complex venture I’ve ever taken on. Fast forward seven years: I’m older, wiser, and incredibly thankful for what we’ve accomplished and the lessons learned. 1. People Are Everything You can’t build a lasting company without the right people in the right roles. From day one, I’ve seen how a passionate, resilient team can turn tough challenges into incredible opportunities. Surround yourself with people who share your vision and values, and invest in their growth. You are going to meet key people in your early career. Foster those relationships, as they will serve you a lifetime. 2. Partnerships Drive Value Without key relationships, beginning a new business is a non-starter. Great partnerships are about more than short-term gain; they’re built on mutual respect, shared goals, and trust. Whether you’re collaborating with clients, vendors, or industry peers, align around outcomes that benefit everyone involved and watch success multiply. 3. Investing for the Long Haul It’s tempting to focus on quick wins. But real progress comes from setting a strong foundation: robust infrastructure, well-trained teams, and a culture that prizes quality. Yes, it may take more time and resources initially, but strategic investing ultimately yields sustainable growth. 4. Giving Back The insights, mentorship, and support I’ve received have propelled me forward. Paying that forward to the market research industry and the next generation of entrepreneurs isn’t just the right thing; it also fuels innovation and builds a stronger, more connected community. I’m incredibly proud of the path we’re on at OvationMR. And if there’s one piece of advice I’d offer other founders, it’s this: embrace the complexities, keep learning, and remember why you started in the first place. Your future self will thank you.
