I've been wanting to incorporate more stories about sustainability, local farms and producers, and talented chefs into my photography and this Outstanding in the Field dinner at Barrier Island Oyster Company was the perfect opportunity. Grateful to have captured such a meaningful evening with incredible people passionate about food and the environment. Special thanks to Barrier Island Oyster Co., Holy City Hogs, Graft Wine, and all the amazing collaborators for their inspiring work and dedication to the Lowcountry community! I am not sure how frequently I will post, but feel free to subscribe while I figure out this whole Substack thing ?? #Sustainability #LocalFarms #Photography #LowcountryLife #Charleston

Bridges are not just swift transportation for people on the go. A bridge can also be a place to slow down, connect and take in the view. The Dallas skyline and a bridge table for 600 — the extraordinary setting for a recent Outstanding in the Field private event. Guests arrived to a welcome reception with live music before finding their seats at the (very long) table, set along a pedestrian bridge downtown. As the colors faded and the city’s lights blinked on, the glow of creative candle centerpieces and twinkle lights suspended above added sparkle to the evening. Guests grabbed the blankets draped on the backs of their chairs to wrap around their festive attire. As everybody left, the cozy party favors were playful capes slung over their shoulders, a lasting memory of the gathering, gone without a trace by the time the city sprung to life the next morning. #customevents?#privateevents?#eventproducer?#longtable?#dallastx

The beauty of a beach dinner? Guests get to kick off their shoes and sink their toes into the sugar-white sand. We did just that at our recent event at Bradenton Beach on Anna Maria Island. The long table was wrapped in a cozy windscreen on a sunny but surprisingly wintry Florida day. Chefs from the Beach House and other Chiles Hospitality restaurants across the island warmed everyone from the inside out with Petrichor mushroom bourguignon and Gamble Creek Farms lemongrass-ginger broth before we lit the bonfires for a cozy sunset viewing.??

At Kualoa Ranch, even the seemingly never-ending table felt small amidst the massive scale of the “Jurassic” Valley serving 360 degree views of ocean and lush hillsides. A tasting tour, tracing the journey from fresh cacao to finished chocolate, set the stage for a sensory meal. Aromas of saffron and sumac drifted on the island breezes as chefs Ahu Hettema & Nili Yildirim poured their hearts into an aromatic feast of Turkish flavors.

Did you know — Flying Disc Ranch is named for Robert Lower's original dream for the property? He wanted to build a camp for competitive Ultimate Frisbee players. Now, Robert grows over 16 varieties of dates in a lush, permaculture jungle in the middle of the California desert. Growing wild between the towering date trees are globes of beet-red pomegranates, peachy grapefruits and bright lemons, all part of his free-form approach to farming. Flying Disc will be the finale of our Winter Tour, which begins tomorrow!?
