?OutNebraska is excited to celebrate our Board Members? ??Today we're celebrating Alex, our Board Vice Chair?? Alex was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and currently resides in Omaha with his husband Chris and dog Rocky. Alex has spent his professional career in the Food & Beverage/Hospitality industry and currently works as the Director of Catering Sales at the Omaha Marriott. He joined the board in June of 2024 and hit the ground running! In addition to his current role as Vice Chair, he also serves on the Succession Planning Committee, the Board Development Committee as well as the Ambassadors Committee.

We’re proud to spotlight the voices of trans individuals across the metro and Omaha natives, celebrating the beauty of trans people all around us. Meet Riylan Mills ? – An Omaha native making waves in New York with her comedy and paving the way for other trans comedians. What does trans joy mean to you? "Trans joy for me is simply being able to exist like anyone else—without being the topic of conversation. I just want to go to work, write my little jokes, enjoy my hobbies, and live a peaceful, chill life. Trans joy has always been simple—in the words of my Scorpio sister, I just want to be treated like a normal girl." What are some ways you practice trans joy? "Comedy is my way of expressing my trans joy. I'm so grateful that I get to do something I love that also brings joy to others. Connecting with fellow trans comedians and hearing from trans people who enjoy my comedy has brought so much joy to my life. In my world, I'm just a comedian who happens to be trans—not a trans comedian. I'm proud to represent my community." What do you wish people knew right now? "I really wish people knew just how funny trans people are! There are so many hilarious trans voices in comedy right now, and I hope we all keep pushing to be seen and booked more!!" #UpliftNebraska

OutNebraska is seeking a Communications Manager to join our team and lead strategic communications for our organization. The Communications Manager will: ?? Create and manage a communications plan for OutNebraska’s website and social media channels. ?? Develop and execute OutNebraska's email strategy, communicating with supporters on a variety of our programming, advocacy and fundraising efforts. ?? This role will oversee various administrative and operational functions, ensuring that the organization runs smoothly and meets its goals. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: ?? Provide administrative support to the team by maintaining organizational calendars, supporting event planning, assisting with financial tasks and data entry, and more. ?? Improve operational efficiency by identifying and introducing tools to streamline operations. ??
