“Minnesota is so much better insulated against many of these attacks than our peer states. That gives us reason to be hopeful, and time to organize and engage folks. We do expect changes. It’s going to cause harm, but we have space and resources to organize against it.” Thank you Minnesota Women's Press for your recent feature! “The strongest protections and best tools that we have are rooted here at a state level in Minnesota." Led by Education Minnesota, OutFront Minnesota, The Arc Minnesota and the Safe Schools for All Coalition of more than 120 groups and organizations, Minnesota's Safe and Supportive Schools Act of 2014 saw laws for bullying prevention from one of the weakest in the country, to one of the strongest. But laws are only as effective as those willing to enforce them. TAKE ACTION: follow OutFront Minnesota and learn how to stay engaged in the work!

“Organizers have been waging campaigns for voting rights, immigrant rights, economic justice, criminal justice reform, and many more for many decades,” Tyler wrote in the book. “Organizers might not use the phrase countering Christian nationalism to describe their work, but that might be a powerful outcome of the organizing they are doing.” Thank you to BJC for sharing Amanda Tyler's work across the country. OutFront Minnesota has made immense progress thanks to the support of religious communities across the state. Learn more and get involved at https://lnkd.in/gJecFyrF

“What we encourage folks to take heart in is that Minnesota’s Human Rights Act has protected LGBTQ students in educational spaces since 1993,” Kat Rohn, executive director of OutFront Minnesota said. “Those protections remain solid. They remain in effect. They do not change.” Strong reporting from Sahan Journal—the protections that OutFront Minnesota has fought for over the decades will be tested. Our community will need to stay in the work. outfront.org/take-action

Today our hearts are heavy as we grapple with the news of election results that will have far-reaching impacts on our LGBTQ+ communities in Minnesota and beyond. As final votes are being counted in states across the country, we urge our communities to stay strong and provide care for one another as the democratic process plays out. This election cycle many of our communities—especially our queer and trans youth—have reported heightened anxiety in response to this fraught political climate. Those concerns are only amplified by the uncertainties ahead of us. Know that OutFront Minnesota has been working closely with state and national partners to prepare for any scenario we might face. And in the days and weeks ahead we will be sharing more resources and action steps. We're not going anywhere. Our communities have a long history of resilience; and we will continue to uphold hard-fought protections here in Minnesota. Take care of yourselves. Take care of community around you. And take hope in knowing we can and have persevered - through many difficult moments. We've got this because we've got each other.

Pleased to have been a part of this important conversation hosted by the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance! This conversation covered the many anti-LGBTQ+ pieces of legislation sweeping State houses and federal policy and how real estate professionals can effectively advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and become stronger ambassadors for our community. Take a moment to watch the recording! https://lnkd.in/gxT2Nmhj
