An avalanche of tariffs and new trade rules could drive up costs, stifle innovation, and even force some outdoor businesses to close their doors. ? Yesterday, OIA and members of our Trade Advisory Council REI and Columbia Sportswear Company met with policymakers on Capitol Hill to share the real-world impacts of these changes. We spoke with key leaders, including Rep. Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR), a steadfast advocate for our industry. ? OIA’s Government Affairs team is here to keep you informed, advocate for your interests, and help you take action. ? Are tariffs threatening your business??Contact us today for support: https://lnkd.in/gWUBfVEF ? #advocacy #outdoorindustry #tariffs #trade

Public lands rely on the stewards who care for them—but deep staffing cuts at the U.S. Forest Service and the Department of the Interior put their future at risk. Park rangers, maintenance crews, and visitor service staff are the backbone of our treasured outdoor spaces. They keep trails open, respond to emergencies, educate the public, and ensure that millions of visitors not only experience the outdoors safely but also feel welcomed and inspired by the landscapes they explore. OIA President Kent Ebersole urges action: “OIA stands with these dedicated professionals and urges policymakers to prioritize sustainable staffing solutions. Our public lands—and the people who care for them—deserve better.” Read our full statement: https://lnkd.in/g4D4gSDy
