This week the Mott Foundation invited grantees from their entire education portfolio to consider the major drivers impacting equity for youth. It was an impressive, inspiring and massive undertaking that included presentations from industry leaders, including Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, who brought the house down with a brilliant, hip hop-inspired framework for intentional collaboration. I was honored to join a panel with Jodi Grant Colleen Quint Portia Roberson Amy Meuers Ja'Nel Jamerson and Eric Duncan to look ahead and navigate the challenges together. At VentureLab we believe that student success should be measured by a young person's ability to think entrepreneurially, with durable skills like creativity, critical thinking, resilience and a growth mindset. I’m grateful to the Mott Foundation for recognizing the transformative power of entrepreneurial learning to truly engage youth, and investing in solutions that seek equitable systemic change in our education system. I’m proud to work alongside organizations like Young Entrepreneur Institute at University School, Lemonade Day, Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) and many others who are making youth entrepreneurship education a priority in their communities. #YouthEntrepreneurship #VentureLab

I second all of this! I loved representing VentureLab on a panel with Corey Mohn Ilene Frankel and Doris Korda — we could have gone on for hours about the power of entrepreneurial learning and I look forward to staying connected. AND I’m ready to admit that I haven’t spent enough time in gorgeous Baltimore and wish I could have stayed longer. I shall return!
