Happy Thanksgiving! Today as you sit around the table with loved ones and celebrate all of God’s blessings, we invite you to reflect on the table scene described in Luke 22 all those centuries ago. Here, Jesus began to unfold what He was about to do: saving us from all the sins that separate us from experiencing the blessings of knowing and loving Him. ??

Whether it was geographically, culturally, or religiously, the Jewish man lying on the side of the row was different in practically every way from the Samaritan Yet he was the only one to fulfill God’s law of love when presented with this opportunity to live it out. More often than not, loving our neighbor means stepping outside what feels comfortable and safe, and in doing so, helping meet the needs of the person God places in our paths—no matter how alike or different we are.
