关于我们

Our 3 Memorial Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization that prevents intimate partner violence by impacting individual behaviors and relationships through education, safety advocacy, and community engagement. As instances of intimate partner violence in underserved communities grow disproportionately, the demand for services and support continues to rise. Through high quality services provision and community engagement, we aim to prevent the devastation intimate partner violence causes in our communities.

  • Our Purpose Purse Packing Party was an absolute SUCCESS! ?? With the incredible support of our community, we packed 103 Purpose Purses filled with essentials and encouragement for survivors of domestic violence—and donations are still coming in! We were also able to include new, unsused underwear beautifully packed in purple bags, to accompany each purse upon distribution thanks to a donation made by USM student, Madison Maddox. To both our donors and Purpose Purse Packers, your generosity, time, and love are what make this mission possible. Every purse packed is a reminder to a survivor that they are seen, valued, and not alone. Together, we are spreading love, restoring hope, and making a real difference in the lives of those who need it most. Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Let’s continue this mission—one purse, one act of kindness, and one survivor at a time. For those who wanted to participate, but didn't have the opportunity to do so, NO WORRIES! This is an ongoing initiative, and we will be hosting another drive and packing party later this year. Until then, head over to our Instagram page @our3inc for more photos.

  • We're going digital! Starting 1/6/2025, our client intake application will be available online only. At Our 3 Memorial Foundation, we're always striving to do more for our community. Moving our application process online means faster responses and more support for survivors when they need us most. It also allows us to save time on manual data collection when providing requested information for our donors & partners. Now, all data will be available to us with the click of a button, leaving more time for us to focus on our mission. The application for services is available on our website at www.our3.org

  • This year, Mississippi had at least 50 documented domestic violence related deaths. The number of fatalities could be higher, but it’s impossible to know because of a lack of data. Ealier this year, Rep. Cedric Burnett (D-District 9) wrote and introduced HB842, which would have established a multi-agency, statewide board to review suspected domestic violence fatalities and suicides. The board would have collected that data and used it to suggest proactive measures to legislature to decrease DV related deaths. IT WAS NOT PASSED. Mississippi is one of only 5 states that does not have some form of official fatality review. It doesn't have to be this way. As we journey into the uncharted waters that 2025 will bring, it's our hope that our state's government opens their eyes, acknowledges that #Mississippi has a problem, and does something about it. #HappyNewYear #StaySafe #Grief #Loss #GiveUsWhatWeNeed #Help #savemississippi #savelives

  • The blame should never rest on the survivor. It's time to shift the conversation and focus on addressing the conditions that trap people in fear. Let's challenge the culture that normalizes control, manipulation, and abuse. Together, we can create a world where no one feels powerless to walk away.

  • We know....This image is disturbing. And so are the statistics surrounding the intersection of domestic violence and gun violence. Mississippi may not report domestic violence fatality stats, but the evidence is clear: ?? Firearms in the hands of abusers are deadly. ?? States with domestic violence firearm prohibitions see fewer deaths. We need policy that requires the removal of firearms from abusers who are the subject of DV protection orders!

#ElectionDay is TOMORROW! If you're a domestic violence survivor, or an advocate working with survivors, make sure to consider a safety plan for casting a ballot: https://bit.ly/46Zg0cI [Image description: Seven graphics with text reading: "Safe voting tips for domestic violence survivors. Ask a friend to support you. Even if your friend can't be with you in-person, they can stay in touch via text while you vote. Know a neighbor who's voting? See if they're willing to head to the polls together. Research so you can vote quickly. Planning how you're going to vote for can save you time at your polling place, especially if you have concerns about seeing your abuser while you vote. Practice self-care before and after voting. Planning a fun or relaxing activity around your vote can help minimize stress. Got a favorite grounding activity? Practice it while you wait in line. Ask a poll worker about secret voting. (Only if it’s safe for you to do so!) If you're voting with your abuser and worry they may force your vote, ask a poll worker if you can cast a secret ballot (if you feel safe doing so).
