After taking a short break over the holidays, it’s time to get started leading another group at OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center! When I moved to LA in 2023, I began searching for ways to get involved in the community. I found myself missing the clinical work I’d done earlier in my career. And then I came across Our House. They offered a grief certification course, with ongoing clinical supervision to volunteers who wanted to lead one of their grief support groups. Volunteering at OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center has been an honor. Last year I co-led a group for people whose partner or spouse died. I witnessed the deep pain of grief coupled with the immensity of secondary losses, and how finding your circle of peers can be a lifeline. This year, I’ll be co-leading a group for people whose parent or sibling died. This group: ??Is for people whose loved one died within the past year ??Meets every other week in person (virtual groups are available if preferred) ??Lasts for a duration of 18 sessions I’m grateful for this opportunity to continue to learn from the staff at Our House and to further the conversation about grief and loss, so that no one has to grieve alone. For anyone who wants to contribute to the LA community, Our House is currently accepting applications for volunteer group leaders. You don’t have to be a clinician, just someone willing to listen and learn. More info at www.ourhouse-grief.org #grief #GriefSupport #volunteer
