Employees of Oswego Industries, Inc. and Arc of Oswego County have demonstrated their commitment to the community by donating nearly 340 pounds of non-perishable food and hygiene items to the Catholic Charities Food Pantry. This contribution will directly benefit individuals and families in need throughout Oswego County, particularly during the holiday season.

We are thrilled to announce that Oswego Industries, Inc. has been selected as a recipient of a $10,000 donation from the Key Bank Foundation. This generous funding will support our Virtual Reality (VR) Career Exploration program, an integral part of our Employment Support Services. This program empowers individuals to explore diverse career paths in a safe, immersive environment. This innovative, technology-driven initiative is vital to our mission of fostering independence and productivity for individuals with disabilities. Since 2010, Oswego Industries, Inc. has produced leather dress belts for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Leather blanks are sent to Oswego Industries' facility in Fulton, NY, where they are assembled, packaged, and shipped to their final destination by individuals with disabilities. In the nearly two years that I have been employed by Oswego Industries I have never seen anyone cut fabric for anything other than just one off pattern. This morning Wendy showed me how she cuts the many pieces for the coveralls that we manufacture as part of contract with the Federal Government. Oswego Industries, Inc., has an immediate opening for an?Employment Services Specialist.?The Employment Services Specialist oversees employment services using a variety of techniques and resources to effectively work with individuals with disabilities. This position is responsible for employment plan development, job development, implementation, pre-employment assessment, job exploration, coaching and retention, and benefits advisement. They provide direct supervision to a team of Career Employment Specialists and are responsible for maintaining awareness and oversight of all applicable regulations, funding requirements, agency policy, and procedures while assisting persons supported with employment goals. QUALIFICATIONS:?A well-qualified candidate will be a self-starter, hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited program, and will have experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. They will have strong supervisory skills and the ability to work both in an office and from a remote environment. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree Experience working in a supported employment role preferred.
