Whenever you work with power tools or on electrical circuits, there is a risk of electrical hazards, especially electrical shock. Anyone can be exposed to these hazards at home or at work. Workers are exposed to more hazards because job sites can be cluttered with tools and materials, fast-paced, and open to the weather. Risk is also higher at work because many jobs involve electric power tools. Coming in contact with an electrical voltage can cause current to flow through the body, resulting in electrical shock and burns. Serious injury or even death may occur. As a source of energy, electricity is used without much thought about the hazards it can cause. Because electricity is a familiar part of our lives, it often is not treated with enough caution. As a result, an average of one worker is electrocuted on the job every day of every year. Are you knowledgeable of the electrical hazards you may be exposed to at your worksite(s)? If the answer is no, or you're not sure, consider clicking on the link below to review OSHAcademy's course 715 Electrical Safety for Technicians and Supervisors. https://lnkd.in/gi_5j7-g #electricalsafety #oshacademy #osha #electricalwork #workersafety #worksafe

Bloodborne pathogens are capable of causing serious illness and death. The most common illnesses caused by bloodborne pathogens include: *Hepatitis B Virus (HBV); *Hepatitis C Virus (HCV); and *Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). Other commonly recognized pathogens transmitted by body fluids include: *West Nile Virus; *Malaria; and *Syphilis. OSHA has determined that employers can minimize or even eliminate occupational bloodborne hazards by developing and enforcing a combination of exposure control strategies that work for all bloodborne diseases. If you're a healthcare employer and would like your employees to learn more about bloodborne pathogens and exposure control strategies, take a look at OSHAcademy's course 656: Bloodborne Pathogens in the Healthcare Setting. https://lnkd.in/gyqikwMX #BBP?#bloodbornepathogens?#safety?#workersafety?#healthcare?#oshacademy
