We're very happy to see OSeMOSYS bringing people together and providing the means to create the foundation for a sustainable clean energy future in South Africa. Thanks to Energy Systems Research Group at the University of Cape Town and Climate Compatible Growth #CCG for bringing this training to the stakeholders there. We can't wait to see the plans you create together!
We're continuing to celebrate the OSeMOSYS training taking place with the staff from the South African provisional government, national departments, utilities, research institutions and academia this week. Energy Systems Research Group at the University of Cape Town are our joint hosts as we both developed the Africa-driven modelling capacity and communication (ADMeCC) project, funded by Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. This course is building collaboration between all of these stakeholders to strengthen evidence-based energy planning which, as we know, is more likely to secure climate finance from investors. Sincere thanks to all the trainers: Thomas Alfstad, Mashaka Audry Lubenga,?Nasibe Nosrati,?Ashleigh Dingwall,?Tara Caetano,?Lara Dixon?and?Moyahabo Masipa. It's also great to see several alumni from our EMP-Global at @ICTP, taking part in this. #ADMeCC #ESRG #OSeMOSYS #EnergyModelling #OpenSource #CapacityBuilding #SustainableEnergy #EnergyPolicy Alfie Alsop Kane Alexander
