关于我们
As a novice nurse in the operating room, it can feel overwhelming and scary. This affects the nurse's performance in the OR, which affects patient safety and outcome. Whether you went through a PeriOp 101 program or learned on the job with a preceptor, OR nursing is a very complex and complicated specialty. The learning never stops and programs like the PeriOp 101 can't teach you everything. ORRN Mentor fills that gap by teaching you what your preceptor and other programs do not. I help novice OR nurses obtain the knowledge and gain the confidence they need to provide safe patient care. Follow ORRN Mentor here and on instagram for education and information on upcoming educational materials.

After a long day in the OR, nothing helps me reset and relieve stress like a peaceful walk with Bronson ??. In the chaos of life, it’s so important to find moments that ground us, that remind us to breathe, and that fill our hearts with joy. Whether it’s a walk, a hobby, or a moment of stillness, take time to care for YOU, because self-care isn't selfish—it's essential. Find your positive coping. ???? #SelfCare #StressRelief #NurseLife #MindfulMoments #DogWalks #Balance

Listen up! ?? STOP telling the surgeon it’s your “first time doing this case” or that you’ve “never done this case before.” You are NOT incompetent—you’re trained, skilled, and prepared. You are a NURSE, and you’ve got the knowledge to adapt and handle whatever comes your way. ?????? Confidence in the OR comes from within, and each of us has the power to bring that energy into the room. Trust your training, show up strong, and let’s keep elevating our team every day! ????? #ORNurseLife #ConfidenceInTheOR #YouArePrepared #NurseStrong

I’ve seen firsthand how vital trust is in precepting. We’re often asked to guide new nurses without much notice, but here’s the key: trust isn’t built on perfection, it’s built on presence. 1?? Be Present – Even in the chaos, take those moments to truly connect. Listen to their concerns and celebrate their progress. 2?? Honesty is Everything – If you’re unsure about something, admit it! Transparency builds trust. 3?? Encourage Independence – Trust grows when you give them space to think critically and make decisions while knowing you’re there if needed. 4?? Stay Calm, Stay Kind – Things won’t always go as planned, but your calm, supportive energy will help your preceptee feel safe and confident. Every shift is a chance to inspire and grow together. ?? Trust is a journey, but with the right approach, you’ll get there—even when it feels like you’re just thrown into it. Feeling frustrated? ?????? It’s okay—it’s a part of the journey. ?? What’s the one thing I do to handle frustration? First, I embrace it. Then, I identify it and I write it down. And then—I let it go. ??? At the end of the day, I revisit my notes and see how I can improve. I use those moments as a learning tool to grow and adjust! ?? If we never experience frustration, we never grow. When we know what we don’t want, it helps us get clear on what we do want. ?? #GrowthMindset #EmbraceTheJourney #LearningThroughChallenges #SelfImprovement

?? Dear Preceptees, ?? I see you. I see the effort, the determination, and sometimes the uncertainty. Starting in the OR can feel like you're carrying the weight of the world, but remember—you’re not carrying it alone. Every challenge you face is an opportunity to learn, grow, and build your confidence. ??? We don’t expect perfection. What we value most is your passion, your willingness to learn, and your dedication to patient care. ?? Every day, you’re becoming a stronger nurse, one step at a time. Don't rush the journey—embrace it. ? Lean on your team, give yourself grace, and take pride in how far you’ve already come. You’re doing more than you realize, and your presence matters.
