A tale of Danish Design unfolded at the Ambassador’s Residence! With opening remarks by HRH Princess Marie of Denmark and welcome by Ambassador Jesper M?ller S?rensen, the Architect Carl D'Silva, FAIA unfolded the history of designer Finn Juhl’s iconic Chieftain Chair and a long-forgotten painting that preceded it. This fascinating story is detailed in his book ‘Lost Danish Treasure,’ about the iconic Danish designer. Danish design is still highly influential and sought-after in the US and around the world, and the present-day Danish designers are still focused on creating human-centred, innovative design with a focus on craftsmanship and sustainability. The interior design of the Residence was done by none other than Finn Juhl, who curated the Residence with his own remarkable furniture as well as creations by other Danish Modern greats.
