Tavistock Development Company is doing something pretty special in Lake Nona. I had the pleasure of attending the ULI Central Florida tour this past Wednesday that Bob Moser helped organized. Some highlights were: ?? the medical campus expansion near UCF — brought back memories of my early career assisting with medical campus planning. - and - ?? the WHIT house that feels like a real deal Back To The Future Part II ?? - and - ???????? seeing several familiar faces of business colleagues from the AEC industry! The deal to build a new ballpark for the Tampa Bay Rays in downtown St. Petersburg is dead. Let’s bring the Rays to Orlando and develop the stadium in Downtown Orlando. ? This kind of ACTIVE USE transforms urban environments – precisely the kind of USE that #downtownorlando needs.? ? Stadiums like Camping World are great, but only when used. BASEBALL IS THE SOLUTION and has been proven over and over again: 3 to 4 Major League Baseball (MLB) games per week will transform an area and promote active and sustainable development around it.? ? We have a sports and entertainment district emerging along the #WestChurchCorridor; let's add major league baseball to the mix. ? We had an unforgettable evening at our 2024 Orlando – Tampa BUILT Fall Dinner & Reception at Reyes Mezcaleria! With a sold-out crowd, the atmosphere was buzzing, and the night was filled with great company and incredible experiences.
