It’s that time of year again! Registration for the 2025 Golf Season will take place on Saturday, February 8th from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Callahan Center. Meet the coaches and get all of your questions answered.

OMYGA Mission Statement: Welcome to the Orlando Minority Youth Golf Association (OMYGA) 2025 Golf Season: For over thirty years, the OMYGA has worked to introduce minority and disadvantaged youth to the sport of golf. Through our efforts, hundreds of young people have experienced the game, with many having progressed to play on high school and college teams. Some have even advanced to professional status, while others have earned college scholarships, saving their families significant educational expenses. Our primary mission is to expose youth to golf as a means of teaching essential life skills, including self-discipline, self-confidence, and respect for oneself and others. We believe that learning golf instills self-esteem, self-direction, and other valuable character traits. The success stories from our program are numerous, with thirty-two of our students going on to play college golf, demonstrating the effectiveness of our approach. Our goal is not necessarily to create professional golfers but to help youth develop the discipline and dedication needed to succeed in life. We emphasize the importance of discipline, consistent attendance, and practice, which are crucial for mastering the game. While not every student will excel at the same level, all can enjoy and benefit from learning the sport. In OMYGA, we believe that golf provides a unique opportunity to teach behavioral qualities such as etiquette, culture, and respect, which are essential for personal development. The game also promotes charity and a lenient judgment of others, enriching the lives of those who engage with it. Our partnership with Golf Now enhances our mission, and we are excited about the opportunities this brings. ?????♂? Fall & Winter Golf Tips from the OMYGA ???♀??? Playing golf in the cooler months can be a game-changer—literally! Whether you’re working on your swing or perfecting your putt, staying comfortable and safe is key to enjoying the season. Here are a few tips to keep your OMYGA game strong this fall and winter: 1?? Layer Up Smartly ??Start with a moisture-wicking base layer to stay dry. ??Add an insulating mid-layer like fleece for warmth. ??Top it off with a windproof and waterproof jacket for protection. ??Don’t forget gloves, a hat, and thermal socks—your hands and feet will thank you! 2?? Stay Hydrated It’s easy to forget to drink water in the cold, but hydration is just as important as in summer. Warm tea or coffee can also keep you cozy on the course. 3?? Use the Right Equipment ??Switch to low-compression golf balls—they perform better in colder temperatures. ??Keep your clubs warm to maintain optimal performance. ??
