Our team had the opportunity to connect with high school women from 9th–12th grade who are interested in exploring careers in construction and engineering. Leaders from both our Marine and Concrete divisions were on-site to meet with instructors and get a closer look at OSUIT’s impressive hands-on training programs. We’re thrilled to announce that our new office in Honolulu is officially opening this week! This marks a significant milestone in Orion’s long-standing commitment to supporting critical infrastructure in Hawaii and across the Pacific. As we get ready for the Hawaiian blessing ceremony over our office later this week, we’re reminded of the 2023 traditional Hawaiian blessing at Pearl Harbor, honoring the start of construction on Dry Dock 5 at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF). The blessing, conducted by Kahu Kordell Kekoa, underscored the deep connection between the project and the local Hawaiian culture — a value we carry forward into our work and partnerships in the region. Several of our team were present at the blessing, and we continue to work diligently on the Pearl Harbor dry dock. Our new Honolulu office will allow us to better serve our clients, strengthen local partnerships, and continue building infrastructure that supports national security and the local community. Snap of a great crew! We're out at a major marina upgrade project in Florida that includes 1,334 LF of bulkhead replacement, removal and replacement of all boardwalk and docks, basin dredging, and installing new floating aluminum docks and a floating concrete fuel dock — all while keeping the marina’s commercial fleet fully operational! Behind-the-scenes look at this office complex in Lewisville, TX. Completed in 2024, Orion handled all the concrete work on this project, which includes 237,473 SF of slab on grade, 128,654 SF of 40' tall tilt wall, and nearly 300,000 SF of paving. On February 20, 2025, we completed the last deck pour on the new westbound bridge of the NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Causeway Bridge Replacement project in Florida. Lina Garcia Martin, PE, MSc. has been promoted to Vice President of Engineering! Lina joined the Marine business in 2024 and has quickly made an impact with her expertise in marine structural engineering and project management. Her leadership will be instrumental in driving growth, strengthening partnerships, and leading Orion Engineering into its next phase. ?? Heath Crittenden, P.E, M.B.A will take on an expanded role as Engineering Director of Operations & Principal Engineer. Heath has been with Orion since 2010 and brings extensive experience in heavy civil construction and structural design. His deep understanding of engineering and operations will drive continued success. ??After over a decade of leadership, Gary Schneider, P.E. will transition into a Senior Engineer Consulting role as he prepares for retirement. Gary has been a key part of Orion’s growth since the acquisition of Schneider Engineering & Consulting in 2011, and his expertise will continue to be an asset in this new technical capacity.
