Black coatings often resist wear and discoloration on materials, maintaining a clean, professional appearance over time. It is also an efficient heat absorber, useful in applications where heat management is crucial. Orion accomplished a major milestone in the construction of our new Texas plant that will produce conductive additives for lithium-ion batteries, energy storage systems and high-voltage wire and cable.? Three 160-ton modules were successfully installed on site recently. In total, the modules weighed more than the International Space Station! View the video below to get a look at our progress. Orion CEO Corning Painter discusses sharply improving Free Cash Flow prospects in 2025-26 at Baird Global Industrial Conference.

When our colleague Markham Benn, E.I.T. isn’t shredding on the guitar or starring in after-work karaoke, he’s focused on data and operational excellence at Orion. Recently he presented at the 2024 TrendLabs Americas Conference. Markham shared how Orion is using TrendLabs’ software to improve processes in our plants. ?

When we think about seatbelts, safety, durability and reliability are top of mind. But what ensures they perform throughout the lifetime of a vehicle?? The answer lies in carbon black. Carbon black is added to the polymer fibers of seatbelts, enhancing their UV resistance. This added resilience means that seatbelts remain intact under extreme conditions such as high temperatures and sunlight exposure over the years, making sure the safety devices withstand the forces in a crash, no matter when it happens.???

Every three minutes, one person in the U.S. is diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma, according to the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).? ? Orion is helping the organization raise funds for research and care. Our colleagues in Houston participated in an evening walk with hundreds of supporters at the society’s “Light the Night” event last weekend. The night reminded us of the power of community, the importance of supporting life-saving research and spreading awareness.?
