After: "Led a team of 5 engineers, delivering projects 20% ahead of schedule." Hiring managers don’t just want to know what you DID. They want to know what RESULTS you achieved. Group Managing Director

I’m excited to share that Orion Electrotech has improved its position in the Recruiter Hot 100 for 2024, moving up to 48th place from 50th. 2024 was a challenging year internally and externally with multiple internal changes, whilst navigating tough market conditions. Having the ability to pivot and drive change is vital within any recruitment business. This result is testament to the optimisation and increased efficiency measures taken across the group. It’s fair to say 2025 has started with cautious optimism, but our drive and ambition to provide a top tier service to both candidates and clients remains at an all-time high! A big well done to all Orion Electrotech

The Interview Question That Catches Everyone Off Guard... ?? “What’s your greatest weakness?” Ever struggled with this one? You’re not alone. ? Wrong answer: “I’m a perfectionist.” (They’ve heard it a million times.) ? Better answer: A real challenge you’ve overcome + how you’re improving it. ?? Pro tip: Employers don’t expect perfection - they want self-awareness and a growth mindset. Show how you’re actively working on your weakness, and you’ll stand out every time. What’s the toughest interview question you’ve ever faced? Let us know in the comments!

£1bn Gigafactory Approved But... Volklec is set to build a £1bn gigafactory in the UK, creating 1,000+ jobs and ramping up domestic EV battery production. It’s a massive step for UK electrification, supply chain resilience, and manufacturing. But here’s the real question: Do we have the engineers to keep up? Battery tech, power electronics, sustainable manufacturing - despite the incredibly talented engineers we already have in these areas across the UK, these aren’t skills you pick up overnight. The industry is moving fast, but is workforce development moving with it? This isn’t just about job creation - it’s about closing the skills gap before it slows down progress. ?? Are we ready for this level of demand? ?? What needs to change to build the workforce the industry actually needs? Drop your thoughts below. ??
