All Maine Nurses Are Leaders

关于我们

OMNL encourages networking, unity and collaborative partnerships among healthcare professionals across Maine. The Executive Committee at OMNL (Organization of Maine Nurse Leaders) made a decision in 2017 to broaden our name to expand beyond nurse executives and better represent who we are. We are now known as OMNL Nursing Leaders of Maine, to include all nurses in leadership positions or aspiring to leadership positions. OMNL’s membership is made up of Maine nurses who work as: Executives Managers/Directors Educators Nurses in leadership or aspiring to be leadership positions Throughout the year our members meet to discuss issues and create policies affecting health care throughout the state. Each meeting includes a hot topic discussion, reports from professional organizations and committees, a networking lunch, and an educational session relevant to nursing issues and leadership development. Member participation is important to the success of our organization and is essential to OMNL’s role as a leading organization for Maine nurses.

  • Do you know an outstanding nurse leader who goes above and beyond in their role? It's time to recognize their dedication, innovation, and excellence! We are now accepting nominations for the 2024 OMNL Emerging Nurse Leader and Exemplary Nurse Leader awards. These honors are given to nurses who have made significant contributions to the nursing profession, demonstrated exceptional leadership, and are committed to advancing healthcare. Emerging Nurse Leader: The Organization of Maine Nursing Leadership (OMNL), supports the professional and experiential development of emerging nurse leaders. This award recognizes the nominee who embodies the characteristics of an emerging leader. This individual does not need to be in a formal leadership role yet demonstrates leadership qualities and characteristics in their professional practice through accountability, influence, innovation, change management, visioning and interprofessional collaboration. These characteristics lead to measurable, tangible outcomes such as care protocol changes, legislative changes, curriculum development, and clinical study results among other such evidence. Exemplary Nurse Leader: The Organization of Maine Nursing Leadership (OMNL) recognizes that all nurses serve as leaders in their organizations, communities, and the profession. The OMNL Exemplary Nurse Leadership Award recognizes a nominee who has significantly influenced nursing practice by their leadership. The nominee will have met at least one of the following criteria: Demonstrating a passion for mentoring and developing nurses, influencing nursing standards and professional practice, serves as a strong leader role model, and develops new and effective approaches to improve nursing practice. Eligibility Criteria: Must be a licensed Registered Nurse and be actively involved in the profession of nursing. Please return nomination forms before September 16, 2024 to: Brandie DeWitt at [email protected] Awards to be presented at our upcoming Annual Meeting on October 4, 2024.
