Current emissions reduction targets are still falling short of the 1.5°C goal established by the Paris Agreement, reminding us of the urgent need for stronger action. The upcoming round of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), national climate action plans by each country under the Paris Agreement, represents a pivotal opportunity to close this gap and drive meaningful progress toward climate commitments. #OECDIPAC provides key data & metrics to assess countries’ progress towards net-zero goals. 关于我们
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organisation that works to build better policies for better lives. We draw on more than 60 years of experience and insights to shape policies that foster prosperity and opportunity, underpinned by equality and well-being. We work closely with policy makers, stakeholders and citizens to establish evidence-based international standards and to find solutions to social, economic and environmental challenges. From improving economic performance and strengthening policies to fight climate change to bolstering education and fighting international tax evasion, the OECD is a unique forum and knowledge hub for data, analysis and best practices in public policy. Our core aim is to set international standards and support their implementation – and help countries forge a path towards stronger, fairer and cleaner societies.

New data from the OECD and IEA show that the fiscal cost of government support measures for fossil fuels fell significantly in 2023, dropping from USD 1.6 trillion in 2022 to USD 1.1 trillion, as energy prices eased from 2022's record highs. However, many measures supporting fossil fuel production and consumption remain in place and, in some cases, have increased. The fiscal cost of these measures, along with implicit support for fossil fuels thus remains elevated compared to its historical average. This underscores the importance of aligning policy actions with international commitments to phase out inefficient fossil fuel subsidies and accelerate the transition to a greener, more sustainable future. The average level of tax revenues across OECD countries was largely unchanged in 2023 as governments sought to ease cost-of-living pressures. Out now: Revenue Statistics and Consumption Tax Trends 2024 This year’s edition of Revenue Statistics presents a special feature on health taxes, which are increasingly common across OECD countries as mechanisms both to generate revenues and improve health outcomes by reducing consumption of harmful products. Consumption Tax Trends 2024 shows, among key findings, that most OECD countries have implemented reforms to ensure that Value Added Tax (VAT) is effectively collected on online sales in line with OECD standards, ensuring a level playing field between bricks-and-mortar businesses and online merchants. How are gender equality and climate change connected? Women are often the hardest hit by the impacts of climate change, yet they’re also powerful agents of change in driving resilience, adaptation and sustainable solutions. A just climate transition isn’t possible without gender equality. Today’s theme at #COP29 is Gender Equality. What is e-waste and why does it matter? E-waste refers to discarded electrical and electronic equipment that often ends up in landfills or is incinerated. This can lead to environmental and social impacts such as air pollution, acidic and radioactive waste, and groundwater contamination. As demand for digital products grows, so does the volume of e-waste, particularly in the ICT sector. Across OECD countries, there is a significant gap between e-waste that is generated and the amount that is collected and recycled. Bridging this gap requires more than just e-waste management solutions. It necessitates a holistic approach, including the implementation of circular economy principles and sustainability by design. #AI and the Internet of Things can help rethink product design and manufacturing, extending the life of devices through predictive maintenance.
