?????? Agile For Patriots Cohort 11 is in full swing! Congratulations on wrapping up Intro to Agile. Next up, Scrum.org's Applying Professional Scrum! We're excited to see what Cohort 11 accomplishes on this journey. #AgileforPatriots #Scrum #OrgWhisperers

Day 3 of Into to Agile & Scrum by Agile For Patriots Hosted by Ravi Verma (PST, CPCC, CRP) wrapped up yesterday. Brain has finally processed the day. ?? So much information and great things over the last 3 days! Huge Kudos to Tyler Kirkland for facilitating our first student led Retrospective of Day 2! ?? He gave me courage for next class to be more willing to jump in and give it a try and not worry if I fumble through it. FYI, he didn't! ???? Take aways for me were using Socrates questioning and work on framing questions. Help people fish and not provide fish. To quote Ravi "Get your team to instead of coming to myself for answers, first say, "What is Paul going to ask us" and try to get them to solve it themselves and be a good servant leader. ?? I also saw a really great example of counter offering. We were working on backlog for the day and Ravi and the team were able to come up with plans for the day and make suggestions with counter offers if it wasn't accepted instead of saying no, that isn't going to happen, it was how about this instead to find a middle ground. Great to see it in action. Thank you again Agile for Patriots and Ravi for an amazing 3 days. I can't wait for the next one!

  • Chief Org Whisperer, Ravi Verma (PST, CPCC, CRP), is passionate about giving back to those who have served our country. He co-founded Agile For Patriots (AFP) as a way to provide military veterans and their spouses with focused Agile training, practical experience, and Professional Scrum Master certification. Cohort XI for AFP started last week! Tyler Kirkland summed up some of the lessons learned and we want to highlight these excellent suggestions to tackle "Role Nausea" in Agile teams ?? #AgileforPatriots #Agile #Scrum #Teamwork #OrgWhisperers

Wrapping up a fantastic day 2 of Agile For Patriots Scrum Cohort XI, here's my takeaway: ?? Tackling "Role Nausea" in Agile Teams: Ever feel like you’re stuck in a loop, getting the same types of tasks over and over again? That’s role nausea — when agile team members become pigeonholed into specific responsibilities, leading to: ? Boredom and disengagement – Doing the same thing repeatedly can kill motivation. ? Skill stagnation – Lack of variety prevents growth and learning. ? Uneven workload distribution – Some team members become overburdened while others are underutilized. ? Reduced innovation – Fresh perspectives are harder to find when tasks stay within the same hands. ? Talent utilization - Team members' talents may go underutilized or, worse, completely unnoticed. ?? How to Break the Cycle? That's the question that I'm mulling: ?? Rotate responsibilities – Build skills by varying tasks. ?? Crosstrain – Team members can learn from each other. ?? Allow the team to self organize – improve ownership from the very beginning. Agile isn't just about moving fast, it's about solving complex problems. ?? To the experts in the field: How have you addressed role nausea in your teams? Let me know in the comments! ?? Thanks again to Ravi Verma (PST, CPCC, CRP) and the rest of the amazing team in Cohort ????! #AgileForPatriots #Agile #Scrum #Teamwork

Maybe it's time to stop waiting around for luck. Pull up your sleeves and get to work on your goals and dreams. You just might find the harder you work, the luckier you get. ?? • ?? Artificial Intelligence vs. Emotional Intelligence ?? AI investment has skyrocketed, but companies need to balance that by investing in people, specifically in developing emotional intelligence. AI can simulate, but humans actually feel! It's important to prioritize emotional intelligence in the workforce alongside technological advancements. Check out the post below for more info. ?? #AI #OrgWhisperers #EmotionalIntelligence

AI investment up 25x in 5 years, but is your company investing in people to do what people do better? I gave ChatGPT the emotional intelligence assessment - the results say a lot about what we should be prioritizing in human leadership. While GenAI simulates emotions, humans have the real thing. If we set up the culture so that's valued and used well. How to do so? Develop and practice emotional intelligence. Embed it thoughout the employee life cycle. Make it part of every interaction. ?? to the research below, plus this week's Emotional Intelligence Network webinar on authentic leadership.

  • Are you scaling the rituals of Scrum or the spirit of Scrum? How would you know? ?? Let's wrap up our "Scaling Professional Scrum From 10 to 10,000: 10 Questions I Wish I Had Known" Series today! How might we stay true to the fundamental intent, principles, values and rules of Scrum?at scale? ? Keep Scrum Simple - Avoid adding excessive roles, processes, or tools. ? Empower Teams, Don’t Control Them - Allow teams to self-organize rather than rely on top-down decision-making. ? Maintain Scrum Values - Foster focus, openness, commitment, courage, and respect across all teams. ? Strengthen Feedback Loops - Keep feedback cycles short and meaningful. ? Keep the Customer at the Center - Measure success by customer outcomes. Scaling should make Scrum stronger, not more complicated. Let's stay focused on the spirit of Scrum to scale successfully. #Nexus #ScaledProfessionalScrum #ScalingScrum #OrgWhisperers Ravi Verma (PST, CPCC, CRP)

I help software product dev teams decrease time to market, increase customer delight, manage risks and boost profits

8 reflections from working with high-performing women… 1?? Women can be extremely hard on themselves 2?? Some of the highest performers have the highest standards for themselves 3?? They often have the most ruthless inner critic who keeps conducting very ruthless performance appraisals, sometimes multiple times a day 4?? This inner critic keeps measuring them against their high standards pointing out all the areas where they need to get better 5?? This inner critic does not allow them to acknowledge all the unbelievable value they are delivering to their clients that is in excess of the compensation they are receiving 6?? Many of them have kindness as a core value and discount their value as a way to take care of their client especially if the client is facing challenges (like me) 7?? All these factors might combine to stop some of the highest performing women from charging a fair market rate for their services 8?? These factors might be "timed spirits" that transcend continents, cultures and generations This is why I gave an unsolicited raise of 100% or more to the 4 women consultants who were the best I have ever had the privilege to work with, but were not asking for a consulting rate that was proportional to the value of their services. And here's what I would say to the past version of me who did not understand all of this... 'Dear Ravi, When you have the power and privilege to set compensation for women, ask your gut - "Is this a fair rate for the incredible value provided by this incredible talent I have the privilege to work with...? If your says "It's too low but I have a budget constraint." Then give them the rate they deserve and reduce the hours you hire them for. Also, remember that you might need to advocate on their behalf in front of their inner critics in a kind, respectful, compassionate way to persuade their inner critic to allow them to accept the raise and feel worthy of it. -Your Future Self.' This message is a reminder to myself and an invitation to any other males like me who might not be aware of this possibility, especially in the tech space. Thanks to CRR Global for teaching me about #TimedSpirits and my #SystemsCoach Monika Singh for teaching me about the power and privilege I have as the CEO of my companies. All flaws belong to me.

  • Let's dive into question #9 in our series, "Scaling Professional Scrum From 10 to 10,000: 10 Questions I Wish I Had Known": How might we scale our approach to measuring whether we are meeting our desired outcomes? Without clear metrics, organizations may struggle to measure the effectiveness of Scrum at scale. Instead of just measuring completed tasks, turning the focus toward empirical, value-driven metrics will drive customer-centric decision-making and encourage continuous learning and adaptability! Would you like help implementing an Evidence-Based Management approach that aligns with your strategic goals? Let us know how we can help! #ScalingScrum #OrgWhisperers #Transformation Ravi Verma (PST, CPCC, CRP)

  • Does scaling empiricism across multiple teams in your organization seem like a daunting task? In our series on "Scaling Professional Scrum from 10 to 10,000: 10 Questions We Wish We Had Known," our next question is: How might we scale empirical management of value, waste, and risk? Empiricism is at the ?? of Scrum—it’s the idea that we make decisions based on what we observe and learn, rather than on upfront assumptions. This works well in a single-team environment, but as organizations scale, maintaining empiricism becomes increasingly difficult (and even more critical!). Consider these strategies: ? Align teams around a shared goal and a unified product backlog ? Implement cross-team coordination to mitigate risks ? Ensure all teams have a consistent and shared Definition of Done Scaling isn’t about rigid processes—its about creating a culture where teams collaborate, experiment, measure outcomes, and continually adapt through real-world feedback to deliver at scale. We'd love to hear your thoughts and find out what's worked for you! #OrgWhisperers #ScalingScrum #Empiricism
