At Oregon Specialty Group, we're supporting an increasing number of patients facing difficulties accessing care following the Regence BlueCross BlueShield and Salem Health contract termination. We’re finding that BlueCross BlueShield-affiliated plans, such as Anthem and Premera, are also affected. While these insurers operate independently, they are part of the BlueCross BlueShield provider network, meaning that patients with these plans may also find that Salem Health is no longer in-network. Tips for patients: Call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask to speak with a care manager to review your benefits and see if you qualify for continuity of care, which may allow you to continue treatment at in-network rates. If you are experiencing challenges accessing care, you can also report your experience to Oregon’s insurance commissioner. If your plan was issued outside of Oregon, be sure to contact the insurance commissioner in the state where your policy was issued. ??
