The final session of a statewide lithium-ion battery training program wrapped up last month, successfully educating 251 people from 85 agencies on battery technology, safety, and emergency response. The hands-on course covered battery chemistry and transportation with eye-opening safety demonstrations, like how a coin cell battery can cause severe injuries if ingested. This grant-funded initiative has been a game-changer for first responders and transit professionals!
