Are you looking for a plumber, electrician, or other contractor to work on your home? Here are three things you should know before choosing a contractor in Oregon: ? Is your contractor licensed with the Oregon Construction Contractors Board (CCB)? Ask for their license number. Licensed contractors have a license history you can look up and are bonded and insured. Use the CCB number to search for their license record on CCB’s website. You can view any complaints or disciplinary actions filed with the CCB in the past 10 years. Go to https://lnkd.in/g2SP3GZj. ? Do they have the correct specialty license? Contractors and businesses must hold the appropriate license(s) to perform electrical or plumbing work. There may be a separate license number for the individual and the business. You can look up a contractor’s license number on the Oregon Building Codes Division (BCD) website at https://lnkd.in/gVzCn2tV. ? Does your project need a permit? Most construction projects need at least one permit. The person doing the work, either the contractor or homeowner, is responsible for obtaining the permit. Contact your local building department for any project-specific questions. Use our directory to find local building department information at https://lnkd.in/gSeKCKep. Visit our website for more information on how to protect yourself from unlicensed work at https://lnkd.in/ggvtkv26. #OregonBCD #LicensedContractor #BuildingPermits #HomeImprovement
