February was a month of fun and learning at Orchard Park Academy!

Meet Mrs. Cochran! Mrs. Cochran is Orchard Park Academy's Dean of Students. This means she works with our students to help develop social and emotional skills. AKA, she works with students outside of the classroom to help them succeed! When asked why she wanted to work with students, she reflected back on her time working with children in county custody. She loved helping them succeed, just like she loves helping our students achieve their dreams! Like other staff members have mentioned, OPA feels like a family for everyone. For Mrs. Cochran, her family tree runs through the school with her sister/best friend, Ms. Nance, being our PE teacher and her son being a student! Meet Mrs. Biggert! Mrs. B is Orchard Park's 3rd grade teacher! She is fueled by her students passion to become life long learners, and values the dedication of OPA staff for students. Mrs. B's students love to do science activities in class, and she always encourages her students to engage in their learning! We'll be posting more Staff Spotlights, so stay tuned for more sneak peaks into the classrooms!

Meet Mr. Carleton! Mr. Carleton is Orchard Park Academy's Middle School (6th-8th) Science Teacher. He says his biggest inspiration for teaching is, "getting people excited about learning." On days he does that, "(it) gives me every reason I need to be a teacher!" Mr. Carleton, also in charge of the Middle School Science Club, is proud of the effort students put in for the club! He also appreciates the team dynamic OPA has, allowing staff to uplift students academically and allow them to grow! Stay tuned for more looks into the classroom coming up!
