OCTA will host a training day in Anaheim this Saturday, October 5, providing an opportunity for service dogs to get accustomed to the sights and sounds of public transportation. This weekend marks the 30th anniversary of the training day, which is held twice a year. Registration is free. Service animal and therapy animal trainers and program alumni are encouraged to attend. This week, OCTA is honored to host the APTA TRANSform Conference, the flagship event for public transportation professionals to engage in workshops, experience technical tours, and network. Throughout this week’s conference, we’ll be showcasing how Orange County’s robust transit system connects residents and visitors to businesses, educational institutions, and tourism attractions.

OCTA Chair Tam T. Nguyen recognizes three employees of the month for September. He also discusses the board updates on enhanced transit services that will meet the needs of Orange County. As always, OCTA continues to keep Orange County moving forward.

I’m excited to share that OCTA has been honored with the 2024 IBTTA Toll Excellence Award for the I-405 Improvement Project and the 405 Express Lanes! ? Since launching in December 2023, the 405 Express Lanes has provided a reliable, time-saving option for more than 11.6 million trips, helping reduce congestion and improve travel along one of the busiest stretches of the highway in the nation. This project is a testament to OCTA’s commitment to innovative solutions that enhance the quality of life for our community by getting people out of traffic and back to doing what they love. ?
