HISTORY AND PURPOSE: The Orange County Paralegal Association (OCPA), was formed in 1977 in response to a growing need for an organized professional association for paralegals. Originally formed as a section of the Orange County Bar Association, OCPA became an independent, voluntary, non-profit corporation in 1986 for paralegals interested in furthering their professional development. In 1995 OCPA joined NALA the Paralegal Association ("NALA") as an affiliated association. NALA promotes the ethical practices of the paralegal profession and administers the CP program, a self-regulatory program offering national credentials for Paralegals.

HUNGRY FOR KNOWLEDGE SPEAKER SERIES Doug first launched the NSLT as a student club in 2015 at the start of his 2L year of law school. The club quickly grew and spread to other schools. Those schools soon integrated the student club into their classrooms to replace the outdated textbooks with the NSLT's interactive software lessons. Doug quickly rose as a nationally recognized expert in the field of legal technology education. By the time Doug graduated from law school in June 2018, the NSLT was required classroom curriculum in over 60 universities across the United States. As of July 2020, the NSLT was curriculum in over 200 universities and colleges in the U.S. and Canada.
