Optimum Sports is the in-house sports marketing agency within Omnicom Media Group, with nearly two decades of experience working with some of the biggest brands in sports. By merging the worlds of sports media, sponsorship and creative, we create omnichannel platforms that effectively drive brand and business impact. We take a fully integrated approach to sports marketing by injecting specialists into clients’ traditional media practices, connecting sponsorship to the wider media mix and marketing platform.     Last weekend was one to remember in San Francisco! The National Basketball Association (NBA) brought its annual winter showcase to the Bay Area, the first time All-Star Weekend has been there since 2000. Optimum Sports' presence could be felt throughout the weekend's events, with 80% of major sponsorships belonging to Omnicom Media Group clients. Here are some highlights from the three-day celebration of basketball, as AT&T, State Farm, Frito-Lay (Ruffles) and PepsiCo (Starry and Gatorade) played major roles on the ground, on broadcast and in content all weekend long.     National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star Weekend is finally here, as basketball's biggest stars descend on San Francisco! Optimum Sports and our clients continue to maintain a massive presence in the weekend on site and in live coverage, with OS clients owning 80% of major title sponsorships across the weekend. Here are some highlights to look forward to! ? AT&T: This will be the seventh consecutive AT&T Slam Dunk Contest, featuring two-time defending champion Mac McClung, Matas Buzelis, Stephon Castle and Andre Jackson Jr. This year's competition will be special. Through NBA ID, fans across the world will be able to score every dunk of the night, eventually helping to choose a champion (the panel will be the fan score plus four NBA legends). ? The Trophy Room with Candace Parker on Bleacher Report presented by AT&T will air Saturday ahead of All-Star Saturday Night in a live show special addition. Candace and Dwyane Wade will sit down and discuss all the news and highlights leading into All-Star Weekend, and Candace will capture buzzworthy moments all night on social. AT&T also serves as the presenting sponsor for Saturday's fourth annual HBCU Classic between Morehouse College and Tuskegee University, and Sunday's G League Up Next Game.? ? Gatorade: Launched in early 2024, G Water was billed as a lifestyle product with a goal of all day hydration. Now, at All-Star Weekend, Gatorade will be using its activations to shift the product's positioning to "Water for Athletes."? ? Expect to see G Water often, with creative featuring All-Star Jayson Tatum airing across the Rising Stars Game, All-Star Saturday Night and the All-Star Game. And the on-the-court presence will be impossible to miss. Expect to see Gatorade coolers, G Water bottles, ASW branded towels and more throughout the game. G Water will be on the ground, with local retail activations and sampling at NBA events. This includes the Gatorade Hoop bus that will be traveling to 20-plus events over 8 days, including an activation with Tyler Herro. Cheers to All-Star Weekend 2025!

During our CES Culture Briefing series, Carrera Kurnik (sparks & honey) and Alex Siddall (OMG), hosted Sports + Gaming Meets Culture with panelists Nick Youngman (Optimum Sports) and Casey Wolberg (Wells Fargo), to discuss how emerging technologies and cultural shifts are redefining fan engagement. From VR experiences that make courtside seats a reality in your living room to the meteoric rise of women’s sports reshaping social media engagement, it’s clear: fandom is evolving. "Passion points bring fans closer to brands," said Wolberg, as the panel discussed how brands can authentically engage with micro-communities and unlock opportunities in esports, tech, and more. From leveraging TikTok as a second screen to exploring the rapid growth of women’s sports, the panel emphasized the importance of tapping into fan passion points. As Wolberg noted, “If you’re next to someone’s passion, you’re next to their heart.”
