This vineyard, located in Napa County, CA, is being devastated by grapevine red blotch disease. The grower is constantly “roguing and replacing” infected vines – resulting in significant losses in net return to the grower. He is now using Opti-Gro? chambers to accelerate growth of the replacement vines and get them into full production a year sooner. In addition, he anticipates the Opti-Gro? chambers will physically prevent the vector – three-cornered alfalfa – from feeding on the young vines and spreading the disease in the vineyard. The chambers will also improve overall vigor of the vines, enhance development of the root system, and self-train the growing vines onto the trellis wire – significantly reducing labor costs. Our Opti-Panel? system has repeatedly proven through 3rd party scientific studies to increase yield, improve fruit quality and maximize net return from trellised citrus. Opti-Panel? is a revolutionary light, canopy, and fruit management system for trellised citrus: enhancing photosynthetic capacity, increasing production (number and size of fruit), and fruit quality. Picture 1: Opti-Panels on trellised Shiranui / Sumo Citrus. Picture 2: Using Opti-Panels, a grower of trellised ‘Shiranui’ in Lindsay (California) increased this year’s harvestable yield by 44% and the number of fruit of all size categories by 35-59%. This translated to $8,478 additional income per acre to the grower. Picture 3: For a 1-acre installation in a newly planted orchard, the ROI from increased harvestable yield builds from $2,674 - $9,246 during the usable life of the Opti-Panel system. Check out this fantastic piece about our Opti-Panel? system written by (6) Richard Carey | LinkedIn in the January 2024 issue of Wine Business Monthly https://lnkd.in/gA4r9tM4. He details how Opti-Panels integrate our revolutionary light-optimization technology into a durable canopy management solution that mitigates some of the major climatic and horticultural problems facing wine grape production. ? Opti-Panels delivered in commercial ‘Pinot noir’ and ‘Cabernet Sauvignon’ vineyards: Increased harvestable yield by >32% Significantly reduced vine water-stress by 12%, and decreased irrigation demand by >95% without loss of harvestable yield Reduced berry damage due to excessive solar radiation and heat Increased berry anthocyanin content by 21% ? The broader implications are that by using the Opti-Panel system, growers can improve yield and berry quality and also grow high value wine grapes in areas of water scarcity or poor water quality, allowing for the cultivation in new growing regions and in regions impacted by extreme climate changes. #precisionagriculture?#sustainableag #winegrapes?#viticulture?#profitablefarmer #increasedyield?#reducedirrigation #heatprotection??#betterlightmakesbetterfruit ? ?

“During the 2023 growing season, we opened new frontiers and pushed the boundaries of sustainable viticulture. Collaborating with @Kaan Kurtural, we showed that using Opti-Panels, wine grape growers can withhold (or significantly reduce) irrigation and still produce similar quantity of grapes as they would under fully-irrigated, non-Panel conditions. The Opti-Panels also improved vine photosynthetic capacity and reduced the exposure of berries to excessive solar radiation. The broader implications of this novel approach is that by using Opti-Panels, growers can grow high value wine grapes in areas of water scarcity or poor water quality, allowing for the cultivation in new growing regions and in regions impacted by extreme climate changes.”
