Over the past twelve weeks, the top convenience store chains saw fuel prices trend downward resulting in margins that averaged more than 43cts/gal nationally.?That was nearly 17% better than the same period last year. Racetrac was the most aggressive with its price over the period with an average daily pump price that was 2.45cts/gal cheaper than the direct competitors.??In contrast, the posted Sheetz price was an almost 2cts/gal premium versus the stations within its orbit.??Sheetz maintains a strong market share of 1.6% for the total U.S. despite only having 0.6% of the sites which brings its efficiency rating (market share/outlet share to an impressive 2.82.?
