OPIP had a great day training over 30 behavioral health clinicians, from 20 different primary care sites that serve approximately 12,000 Health Share of Oregon insured children on issue-focused interventions they can provide for children 1-5 and how they can support to connections to external therapy services. So honored to share the space with such dedicated clinicians to try and improve the quality of care young children receive. We are grateful to Health Share of Oregon for supporting us to lead this year-long Learning Collaborative process. #integratedbehavioralhealth #transformingpediatriccare

OPIP developed a first in the nation metric focused on services that address young children with social-emotional issues that will be in the 2025 Incentive Metric set for Coordinated Care Organizations in Oregon. Two in five children in Oregon are enrolled in CCOs. This metric will drive the desparately needed transformational changes needed to better serve young children. https://lnkd.in/gp3wY3an

As OPIP enters our 14th year (two lucky sevens!), we feel fortunate to continue to be able to lead work aligned with our mission to build health and improve equitable outcomes for ALL children and youth in Oregon. Below is our annual newsletter, which highlights selected projects and key outcomes from the past year. These include: A high-level summary of the Transforming Pediatrics for Early Childhood Cooperative Agreement that began in September 2023. Our leadership role in Measure Stewardship for the novel and innovative System-Level Social-Emotional Health Metric that is included in the Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) Incentive Metric set. Our role in developing the new child-level CCO Incentive metric focused on issue-focused interventions for children with social-emotional issues. Training efforts for Integrated Behavioral Health and planned efforts for Primary Care. Efforts to Galvanize Action for Children with Health Complexity in Douglas County. We have also included links to testimonies and public comments from parents, parent advocacy groups, primary care and behavioral health providers, and early learning providers. These voices passionately support the proposed child-level social-emotional health metric focused on issue-focused interventions and treatments developed by OPIP for inclusion in the CCO Incentive Metric set. OPIP held our third Learning Session for the four amazing primary care sites participating in the Oregon Transforming Pediatrics for Early Childhood (TPEC) effort..
