Operation Lifesaver is a nonprofit public safety education and awareness organization dedicated to reducing collisions, fatalities and injuries at highway-rail crossings and preventing trespassing on or near railroad tracks. A national network of trained volunteers gives free presentations on rail safety and a public awareness campaign, See Tracks? Think Train!” provides tips and statistics to encourage safe behavior near the tracks. OLI leads an international observance of Rail Safety Week each September.

?? New Transit Safety Pledge Campaign ?? Operation Lifesaver, Inc. (OLI) has awarded a $10,000 Transit Safety Pledge Grant to Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) to launch a rail safety education campaign in Norfolk, VA. Launching in early 2025, the campaign focuses on kids, teens, and adults, encouraging each group to take an OLI Transit Safety Pledge and commit to making safe choices around tracks and trains.
