What an incredible weekend at the OPEN Silicon Valley Annual Forum 2024, held at the Santa Clara Convention Center ! This year marked my third time volunteering with the media team for the SV Chapter’s flagship conference, and it’s always a privilege to be part of such a dynamic and inspiring event. The theme, ?“Raise the Bar,”? perfectly captured the essence of the forum, which brought together thought leaders, trailblazers, and visionaries from diverse industries. With his vast experience and dedication to driving our mission forward, Tariq will take charge of strengthening and expanding the OPEN network globally. Tariq has had a distinguished eighteen-year corporate career, in leadership roles including VP, Marketing, MetLife, VP, Market Development & Recruiting, Nationwide, and SVP, Marketing Development, ING. After a successful corporate career, Tariq founded his management consulting firm Global Diversity Marketing in 2010. His company specializes in marketing, strategy, and DEI serving several global fortune companies since their inception. Tariq is a full-time faculty at NYU teaching leadership and marketing courses at the graduate school. Tariq is most passionate about his non-profit work. He has been on several nonprofit boards since 2003. Tariq has served on the board of directors for major non-profit organizations and is a founding board member of APIA Scholars, which has distributed more than $150 million in scholarships to over 7,000 Asian American students. Tariq also served as board chair for Stratford University, and a board member at Ascend, APAICS, and OPEN Global. Tariq is also a published author of a book on leadership.
