#ROSCon2024 last week was a blast, and definitely the biggest and most exciting edition ever ?? ?? ! It was amazing to be able to show off with our full scale robot (a bit more impressive than its Lego mock up). I think we won the robot size contest of the show ?? The response of the community was great and we had non stop conversations at our booth (“and what about drones ?”). And an interview by the Linkedin robotics superstar Lukas M. Ziegler. We participated in a nice panel discussion “Mobile Robotics Scale-up Leveraging ROS", thanks Christine Fraser for animating it. Ruffin White presented some DevOps magic with “Accelerating the CI/CD-to-robot cycle by 10x for 1/10th the cost“ Davide Faconti had a nice lightning talk on DataTamer (and some nice meme quotes in other talks) Marcus Scheunemann and I were fortunate to have the second day 9.00am slot keynote, with a beautiful crowd despite the “intense networking” the night before. We shared our crazy Dexory scale-up journey from 0 to 90 robots in 2 years (with ROS 2!), and enjoyed the debates and discussions that followed: BalenaOS, Grafana, nav2, 3D lidars, mapping, nav2, fleet management and many more! Also always nice to catch up face to face with our suppliers and partners: Robotec.ai, Olive Robotics, Foxglove, Luxonis, NVIDIA Robotics, ZettaScale Technology, Open Navigation LLC, Open Robotics, Bosch Rexroth to mention a few. The results of this project showcase important and missing technology demonstrations of #mobility and #ROS2 in open-source using #Nav2 and #RyzenAI.
