LendingTree has teamed with Coverdash to offer insurance coverage to its small business and startup customers. The collaboration expands LendingTree’s financial product suite to allow small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) access to Coverdash’s fully embedded insurance offering. Coverage options include general liability, workers’ compensation, business owners’ policies and cyber insurance. Insurtech startup Zopper raised $25 million in series D funding, led by Elevation Capital and Dharana Capital. The company will invest in its data science, data engineering and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) capabilities. The funds will also accelerate growth in the firm’s current bancassurance offerings and enhance its post sales and servicing capabilities for Zopper’s device and appliance protection businesses, the firm said in a statement. “We take pride that we are the only insurtech company that works with insurance providers and creates byte-sized, personalised products that it then supplies to distribution partners,” said Surjendu K., co-founder and CEO, Zopper. “With trust of our partners, we are constantly building and working efficiently in transforming seamless journeys for customers to safeguard their future finances and increase financial protection.” “Our thesis from the early days has been clear. Public life insurers are regaining some ground thanks to favourable interest rates and renewed growth focus, but they still face declining relevance compared to other sectors. Insurers are expected to cater to the rising demand for retirement solutions, with the "silver" population projected to double by 2050. Mercedes-Benz AG Insurance Services UK is implementing a new digital platform for its car insurance subscribers. The platform is being delivered by Wrisk, which describes itself as the only independent embedded insurance technology platform dedicated to the global automotive OEM sector.
