Earlier this month, a new Center for Diversion & Services opened in downtown Atlanta, offering a much-needed alternative to incarceration for people struggling with mental health, substance abuse, and homelessness. Instead of jail, individuals will receive support like peer counseling, case management, and sobering rooms, helping them break the cycle of incarceration. We’re excited to see such efforts that address homelessness and criminal justice reform in our community. We’re proud to announce that Jennifer Yearwood has been selected to represent Open Doors on a Leadership Initiative Committee with Built for Zero, Partners for Home, The VA, Hope Atlanta, and Salvation Army to help Atlanta reach functional zero for single homeless veterans by December 2025! With 272 single homeless veterans in Atlanta, the goal is to reduce that number to 18 by the end of 2025. We’re excited to work with these partners to create real change. Let’s get to zero. #EndVeteranHomelessness #OpenDoorsAtlanta #Veterans #FunctionalZero #Atlanta #HomelessnessPrevention #SupportOurVeterans
