Dr. Erdem B?y?k, Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Southern California and leader of the Learning and Interactive Robot Autonomy Lab (LiraLab), delivered one of the most insightful sessions, "Preference Learning from Minimal Human Feedback for Interactive Autonomy", at #ODSCWest 2024.?? With a distinguished background that includes roles at UC Berkeley's Center for Human-Compatible AI and Stanford's Artificial Intelligence Lab, Dr. B?y?k tackled one of robotics' most pressing challenges: the scarcity of large datasets. Drawing on his extensive expertise, he explored how reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) can be adapted with active learning techniques to enhance data efficiency in robot training. ??
