REMINDER! PROPOSALS ARE DUE APRIL 3! The OCP Takes Action Against Silent Data Corruption! In the realm of computing systems, there lurks an insidious threat - Silent Data Corruption (SDC). A hardware-induced SDC is an error that occurs when data is corrupted within a computing system, often without any indication from the built-in error detection mechanisms. This can happen due to manufacturing defects, aging components, or even environmental factors. These errors may lead to anomalous/unpredictable software behavior, causing incorrect calculations, potentially leading to consequences like the loss of data. The OCP's Server Project has established the Server Component Resilience Workstream, focused explicitly on tackling hardware-induced Silent Data Corruption. This workstream, comprising key industry players Meta, Google, Intel, ARM, AMD, Microsoft, and NVIDIA, is launching a request for research proposals to fuel innovation in detection and prevention of SDC. The OCP Foundation is inviting researchers to submit proposals in the focus areas. Researchers interested in contributing to this groundbreaking initiative can submit their proposals by April 3, 2024 Read the full story and learn more here: [https://bit.ly/4biquWo]

The mission is to apply the benefits of open source collaboration to hardware and increase innovation.
关于我们
The Open Compute Project Foundation (OCP) was initiated in 2011 with a mission to apply the benefits of open source and open collaboration to hardware and rapidly increase the pace of innovation in, near and around the data center’s networking equipment, general purpose and GPU servers, storage devices and appliances, and scalable rack designs. OCP’s collaboration model is being applied beyond the data center, helping to advance the telecom industry & EDGE infrastructure.

?FTI Workshop: Short Reach Optical Interconnects OCP Global Summit makes many connections and shapes many connections. One such area is Short-reach optical interconnections (SROI). SROI can improve processor-to-processor and processor-to-memory bandwidth, both key technologies in HPC and AI clusters. If you’re into networking or compute and memory interconnects, be sure to note that we have a half-day workshop on October 16th featuring our Future Technologies Initiative workstream on SROI. You’ll learn about photonic fabrics, replacing copper IO with linear co-packaged optics, and scaling up and out with short-reach optics. #Optics #FutureTechnologies #OCP2024 See the agenda, the full roster of sponsors and register here: https://bit.ly/3xO1X76

FTI Workshop: Data Centric Computing As compute is becoming more distributed with AI and we look to find ever more efficiencies, the OCP Future Technologies Initiative workstream on data-centric computing is looking at ways to bring together a cohesive framework for these technologies such as computational storage, processing in memory (PIM), near-memory processing, and data processing units. At OCP Global Summit on October 16th, there will be a dedicated half-day workshop delving into these data-centric computing topics, also including near-data computing, memory advances for AI and HPC, and several panel discussions with our members. #DataCentric #FutureTechnologies #OCP2024 See the agenda, the full roster of sponsors and register here: https://bit.ly/3xO1X76
