We’re pleased to support our partner, SAI Platform, with the release of their latest iteration of the Regenerating Together Programme global framework.? The updated framework aims to empower the agri-food sector to scale #RegenerativeAgriculture with practical, impactful #solutions. It guides food and beverage companies with practical solutions, best practices, and measurable indicators to support #farmers and create a shared vision. Through WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development and OP2B's initiative - supported by 33 partners, including SAI Platform - we're collectively driving business alignment on how to measure and report on regenerative agriculture outcomes by: ?? Calling for a holistic approach to regenerative agriculture that encompasses three categories: environmental, social and economic outcomes at farm, landscape and corporate ESG levels ?? Creating a consolidated short list of outcomes and indicators for regenerative agriculture that align with major sustainability frameworks, planetary limits, and UN SDGs, to use across different agricultural value chains. These findings can be referenced to help accelerate broad-scale public and private investments to expand transition finance, simplify stakeholder coordination and strengthen the enabling environment to scale at the required pace. SAI Platform is thrilled to release the latest iteration of the Regenerating Together Programme global framework for regenerative agriculture narrative. Building on our September 2023 launch, this evolved framework integrates valuable feedback received from members, farmers, and the Regenerating Together Advisory Board. It aims to enable the broader agri-food industry to initiate and scale regenerative agriculture across supply chains practically and impactfully. Our flexible, science-based framework, designed to help individual or groups of farms to develop and implement continuous improvement plans, aligns the agri-food industry behind a practical approach to advancing regenerative agriculture. Key Features: ?? Four-Step Process: Guides users through context analysis, outcome selection, practice adoption, and monitoring progress. ?? Impact Areas: Focuses on soil health, water, biodiversity and climate, while acknowledging farmer livelihoods as foundational. ?? Implementation Groups: Encourages collaboration and peer learning to scale regenerative practices. ?? Revised Performance Levels: Recognises ongoing efforts of early adopters and incentivises new users to engage. Upcoming Resources to be released in January 2025 include an Implementation Guide, Assurance Protocol, and Quantification Guide, which will further equip the agri-food industry in scaling regenerative agriculture. Interested in joining the movement? Register now for our open-access webinar on November 13th to learn more about how the Regenerating Together Framework can assist you in the transition to regenerative agriculture. https://lnkd.in/es5wnYWh #PeoplePoweredAgriculture #RegeneratingTogether

?? Farmers are on the frontlines of #ClimateChange and #NatureLoss, yet they often bear the full weight of transitioning to regenerative practices. At OP2B, we work to ease this burden by building a collaborative approach that empowers #farmers. This week, we hosted a virtual workshop with over 60 participants, bringing together farmers, EU policymakers, industry leaders, financial institutions, and NGOs. Insights from sectors such as agriculture, finance, food & beverage, textiles, and cosmetics underscored the importance of aligning efforts to drive regenerative agriculture across #Europe.? The key takeaways: ?? Turn Data into Action – Shared public and private data can better identify climate risks, enabling targeted support and fair renumeration for farmers. ?? Set a Shared Vision – Aligning on soil health, biodiversity, and farmer livelihoods creates a clear roadmap. Shared goals let us pool resources and expertise to support farmers with regenerative solutions for people and the planet. ?? Bring Together Policy, Finance, and Farmers – Real change happens when policymakers, financiers, and farmers collaborate and co-design rewards tied to environmental outcomes, benefitting both nature and farmers. ?? Optimize Existing Financial Instruments – Existing tools in supply chains, banks, and Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) funds are often fragmented, limiting farmer support. An outcome-based CAP could offer targeted policies to help farmers succeed. By creating comprehensive financing that reduces immediate risks and provides long-term incentives, we can support farmers as they lead the way in building a resilient, regenerative future. ?? Thank you for your valuable inputs Michael Pielke, Meghan Sapp, Melanie Muro, Stephen Hart, Donald Lunan, Viktoria de Bourbon de Parme, Dana Rakha-Michalon, Jo Lawrence, @Ion Codescu and a special thanks for all participants sharing their insights. #RegenerativeAgriculture #SustainableFarming #Collaboration #OP2B #FinanceForNature #SustainableFuture?

The future of farming is here — and it’s regenerative. More and more people are recognising just how essential farmers are to the resilience, security, sustainability of our #FoodSystems. That’s why #RegenerativeAgriculture is gaining traction as a greener, more sustainable way to grow crops. At PepsiCo, we’re focused on unlocking the full potential of these innovative methods so everyone can benefit. But to make this happen, we need to first empower farmers with the rights tools to feed the world — sustainably. To really maximise what regenerative practices can do — whether it’s optimising long-term yields or making farmland more resilient in the face of climate change — we need strong partnerships across the value chain, and the support from EU decision-makers. One of the big hurdles to scaling up regenerative farming in Europe, is securing the right and adequate funding. The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) has a large role to play here by mobilising public funding, and private investment is just as important. Striking a balance between the two will be key to helping farmers make the transition smoothly and successfully. And it’s essential that benefits (e.g. carbon farming certificates) are shared fairly across all partners in the value chain. Here’s Elise Demaeght, our EU Government Affairs Manager, explaining why finding the optimal incentive structures and public-private collaboration models will be crucial to restoring the soil and strengthening farming communities in Europe, and beyond.

?? Did you know that jasmine rice supports millions of #farmers and it ranks as Thailand’s second most exported rice, with over 1 million tons shipped worldwide each year?? ?? To protect this essential crop and many others such as soybeans and tomatoes, Unilever has set an ambitious target to implement regenerative practices across 1 million hectares globally by 2030.? Their commitment is reflected in Thailand’s jasmine rice fields, where Unilever, in partnership with Livelihoods Venture, is introducing cover cropping and reducing chemical fertilizer use by 30-40%. These practices are vital in enhancing #biodiversity in #agriculture, aligning closely with target 10 of the #KMGBF and the goals set out in the #CBDCOP16 discussions. Led by Lucas Urbano and Jeremie de Charentenay, this project is creating sustainable income opportunities while protecting the land. Farmers like Phonthip Phalanisong have reported positive impact: ‘’With lower costs and higher yields, our income has improved compared to before’’. Supported by OP2B, Unilever’s efforts go beyond just improving yields – they’re setting news standards for agricultural success. ‘’OP2B is vital’’, says Lucas Urbano, ‘’ as it helps redefine success to include environmental and social outcomes’’. ?? ?? NOUVELLE PUBLICATION ?? ?? As #COP16 takes place, it's time to align business?on the impact of regenerative agriculture to?safeguard #biodiversity. ?? #RegenerativeAgriculture is vital for restoring and protecting?biodiversity, but scaling its impact requires collective action and credible?metrics.?Aligning metrics across the agricultural value chain can support National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plans (NBSAPs) and help farmers, businesses, and policymakers achieve shared environmental and socio-economic outcomes.
