President Trump is right. We ARE in an energy emergency. ? And #solar and #storage are a critical part of the answer. ? Energy demand is rising faster today than any time since World War 2. ? By 2030, U.S. electricity demand is expected to grow 7%. Electrification, manufacturing, AI, data centers, and population growth are all adding new stress to America’s already fragile electricity grid. ? So, we need new capacity… and we need it fast. ? This is where solar and storage can shine. ? Solar and energy storage can be built twice as fast as other technologies. ? From site selection to construction to interconnection to commissioning, it takes about 15 years to get a nuclear plant online, 6 years for a new coal plant, and 4 years for a natural gas turbine. ? And these are not my estimates. This is from SEIA’s analysis of EIA timelines going back a decade. ? Solar and storage can be up and running in less than two years and even those timelines can be accelerated with better interconnection policy and thoughtful permitting reform. ? Plus, solar and storage can be built anywhere. ? That’s not to mention that that nearly three quarters of the U.S. generation already under development is solar and storage. So, yes. President Trump is right. ? We must build capacity — quickly and cost-effectively — to meet America’s energy needs, bolster American competitiveness, and secure American energy independence. ? Onyx Renewables is excited to announce the completion of Phase 3 of our onsite solar energy project at U.S. Army Garrison Fort Riley! In partnership with Corvias, this latest phase adds 4.23 MW of clean energy through our first ground-mounted solar arrays at the base, bringing the total installed capacity to over 16 MW. After participating in the Cards for Seniors initiative with the California Long Term Care Ombudsman Association, we were touched to hear how much these handwritten messages meant to the residents: "This is the first greeting card I received in a long time." "I love the personal message and handwritten card!" "This is very thoughtful of you." Some residents kept their cards by their bedside, in books, or on display in their rooms as reminders that they are valued. This should be a point of national pride?? Seriously, there is no better example of American Energy Dominance than this. America invented the silicon #solar cell but, for decades, did not build a robust solar supply chain. That all changed a few years ago. Thanks to a good policy and a ton of hard work, America has become a solar manufacturing powerhouse?? - We quintupled our solar module manufacturing capacity in just two years. - We went from 14th in the world in module capacity in 2017 to 3rd in the world today. - We just passed 50GW of module capacity, which means U.S. factories can now supply ALL demand for solar modules in the U.S. - We are well on our way to 50 GW of capacity across every one of solar’s upstream components too. ^(A decade ago, you’d be called crazy for even suggesting any of these) But, here we are… and we should be proud of it. We can be a model for onshoring high-growth technologies. We can be the shining example of thoughtful, effective industrial policy. We can be THE American energy technology.
