    CEO @ Onton | We're hiring

I’ve worked in some strange places throughout my founder journey. Some brought distraction, some brought creativity, some even brought some odd smells ?? The best work I’ve done was when I was working in a small, focused office with my co-founder, where our graph DB and the origins of our self-learning agent were invented. I’m excited to replicate the magic with our new space in SF, and even more excited about the incredible things we’ll build here. We have 6 desks left. Join us. (Link in comments)

3 am. 47 tabs open. Still can't decide if that couch would actually work in your space? AI can free you from the Pinterest chokehold. Here's how ? ? Resist the inspiration loop. Cut through sponsored content and algorithm-fed boards to discover combinations your feed would never show you. ? Generate real possibilities. Skip tedious sketching and 3D modeling. Turn your ideas into photorealistic renders in seconds. ? Refine without restarting. When your vision evolves (or your clients want changes), edit designs on the fly instead of going back to square one. ? Design for reality. Work with your actual dimensions, lighting, and features — not idealized spaces that don't solve your design challenges. ? Find pieces that actually exist. Shop directly from your renders or discover budget-friendly alternatives. No more falling in love with furniture you can't buy. Forget the hype — we deconstructed what AI brings to interior design → https://lnkd.in/dGsbXiG3

Minimalism isn't sparking joy anymore? Good ?? The most interesting homes in 2025 are embracing their "muchness" era. But here's what separates intentional Maximalism from unorganized chaos: - Layer with purpose – mix patterns that shouldn't work (but do) - Break the "color rules" – jewel tones + neons? Absolutely - Collect what you love – vintage finds + modern pieces create stories - Add, then add some more – antique chandeliers meet funky art meet quirky sculptures Everything you've been told is "too much" probably isn't enough. Want to try Maximalism without buying a single piece? Upload your space to Onton Imagine and go wild — try bold wallpaper, stack a few patterns, and paint that ceiling pink. Most people confuse contemporary style with modern. But modern design is a defined aesthetic (think: mid-century influences, clean lines, minimalism). Contemporary design? It's always evolving. It's less about what's in and more about what's next. Here's your quick guide to spot contemporary design in the wild: ? Strong contrasts – Crisp white walls meet deep charcoal furniture, or sleek black fixtures play against warm wood. ? A mix of materials – Glass, stone, metal, and natural textures create balance. No single material dominates. ? A focus on openness – Large windows, fewer visual barriers, and an emphasis on natural light. If a space feels closed off or heavy, it's not contemporary. ? Sleek but comfortable – Contemporary spaces are clean-lined, but they aren't cold. Soft fabrics, natural wood, and furniture that invite you to sit, not admire. Most people renovate their kitchens backward. They pick a paint color, buy new cabinets, and maybe swap out a light fixture — only to realize halfway through that the space still doesn't feel right. But what if you could test-drive different styles before spending a single dollar? We used our AI tool, Onton Imagine, to transform the same kitchen in 10 different ways. Here's what we learned about making those free weekly renders count: ① Upload a photo of your actual kitchen. AI works best with clear, well-lit shots that show your whole space. (Trust us, this makes a huge difference in getting realistic results!) ② Get specific with your vision. Instead of using a generic prompt, like "modern kitchen," describe exactly what you're dreaming of: "matte black hardware, waterfall island, hidden appliances, and under-cabinet lighting." ③ Build on what's already working. Got gorgeous natural light? Beautiful wood floors? Let the AI know what features you want to keep. ④ Don't be afraid to experiment with styles. That Victorian-inspired kitchen with jewel tones might surprise you. Or maybe your space is secretly begging for some Mid-Century Modern flair — complete with geometric backsplashes and retro fixtures. ⑤ Play with lighting — it changes everything. Try warm, subtle lighting with rustic fixtures, or go bold with statement chandeliers. Want to see your kitchen in 10 different styles? Try Onton Imagine for free: https://lnkd.in/gYcJmmrA P.S. Already tried it? Drop your favorite kitchen transformation in the comments! We'd love to see what you've created ??

Your home should feel like a vacation. Here’s how to make that happen ? From houses in the Hamptons to modern seaside sanctuaries, the coastal style has always been about one thing: creating spaces that feel like you’re on a permanent holiday ?? But here’s what designers like Jamie Young Co. and Kemble Interiors know — it’s less about seashells and anchors and more about capturing that feeling of being near the ocean. Light. Breezy. Effortless. How to bring that into your space: ? Use a soft, natural palette – whites, creams, and muted blues keep things easy on the eye ? Layer textures – linen, driftwood, and woven materials add depth without clutter ? Maximize natural light – sheer curtains, open layouts, and reflective surfaces help ? Choose details with intention – sea glass and natural shapes create the right atmosphere Want more inspiration? We break it all down here: https://lnkd.in/getCU7-e

    Growth @ Onton | formerly @ Stanford

I graduated from Stanford in June and moved to San Francisco to start my post-grad life which meant furnishing my very first apartment. Anyone who's gone through the process of designing a new space knows exactly how it goes. It starts with an upward curve of excitement – endless inspiration, Pinterest boards, and grand visions. Then reality hits: endless scrolling through mismatched search results, budget constraints, and decision fatigue. What begins as an exciting creative project devolves into an overwhelming puzzle. That's why I've been introducing friends to Onton's Imagine tool as they decorate their new spaces. It's the most efficient, budget-friendly, and genuinely fun way to bring your design vision to life. Simply write a prompt describing your ideal space (the more specific, the better!), and watch as the tool generates images that match your vision. But here's the best part: spot furniture you love in these generated images? We'll instantly match you with similar pieces from our vast catalog of products. Plus, you can filter everything by color, price, and material to find exactly what you're looking for. Try it out and see what you think! https://lnkd.in/gzFHbMrq

The best lessons don't come from textbooks. In my case, they come from having 37 browser tabs open during lectures, scrolling through countless pages of fashion sites, and building Pinterest boards. One day I'd browse Pinterest for 'red grey outfits,' the next I'd scavenge Depop for 'Y2K prom dress.' Occasionally someone seeing my frantic scrolling would laugh and wonder what I was doing. But little did they know, I was onto something even then. I've always been aspirational about shopping, and while it might have seemed like a silly distraction, I was actually honing valuable skills. I became really good at searching for the best deals, identifying trends, and discovering products that were hard to find elsewhere. Fast forward to today, that passion has turned into a career! I'm thrilled to share that I've joined Onton as part of their Growth team. What draws me to Onton is their vision for the future of shopping engines—personalized, tailored recommendations without all the SEO gimmicks or intrusive ads. Onton has the largest online catalog of home decor and furniture, and I can't wait for you to see how easy it is to find exactly what you need. Check it out for yourself: https://lnkd.in/gjRnm_xp And, for a little fun, if you're looking for inspired design ideas for your space, try the Imagine tool. It's a great way to visualize your next home project: https://lnkd.in/gzFHbMrq

Sleek, chic, and ever-evolving — contemporary design nails the balance of clean lines, neutral palettes, and rich textures. And creating contemporary spaces isn't just for the pros. DIYers and amateurs can nail it, too. Here are five tips to create your own contemporary oasis: ?? Go bold with statement pieces. Add a vibrant painting or eye-catching chandelier to instantly elevate your space. ?? Embrace modular furniture. Opt for versatile pieces that can easily adapt to different layouts and keep up with changing trends. ?? Stick to a neutral palette. Choose calming whites and grays as your base, then add pops of muted colors like teal for interest. ?? Create flow between rooms. Avoid barriers and maintain a cohesive color scheme to make your space feel open and connected. Remember, contemporary design is all about balancing sleek functionality with playful accents. Keep it simple, but don't be afraid to have some fun with your decor! Dive into our full guide to Contemporary interior design here: https://lnkd.in/g_c99ZGC
