Home of the Ontario Regiment Museum. Canada's Largest Collection of Operational Historical Military Vehicles
About us
The Canadian Tank Museum is the home of The Ontario Regiment (RCAC) Museum. The museum houses the largest collection of operational historical military vehicles in North America. With over 150 vehicles, including jeeps, trucks, armoured personnel carriers, and tanks, and are all kept fully operational. In addition to an extensive static display section with artifacts dating up to 200 years ago, the Ontario Regiment (RCAC) Museum prides itself on making history come alive. Once a month, visitors will have a rare opportunity to see and experience these historical vehicles in action, as we provide a live museum display of these vehicles at one of our Tank Saturday shows. The Museum is also an active advocate of other local community organizations and events, and frequently conducts outreaches to show its support. These outreaches include participation in, but not limited to, school visits, private museum tours, weddings, and fundraisers. Located in Oshawa, ON at the South Field of the Oshawa Airport An accredited Canadian Forces Museum

We would like to welcome Brian Morningstar to our Team! Brian joins us in the new position of Museum Development and will be working on our further expansion.
This week marks the end of the line for one journey, and a new beginning in my career. I will be switching tracks from trains to tanks as I say a warm goodbye to my friends and colleagues at the Toronto Railway Museum, and a hearty hello to my new colleagues at the Canadian Tank Museum. I owe who I am as a professional to the countless staff, volunteers, and board members that I managed, worked alongside, or served in my six and a half years at the TRM. I cannot thank everyone enough for the camaraderie and opportunity to lead through service to my team. Now I get to return to my roots as a military historian and join the Canadian Tank Museum as their Museum Development Officer. Onwards to victory!

What a great experience serving as the MC at the AI Think Tank 2024! Held at the Canadian Tank Museum, this two-day event brought together experts, innovators, and thought leaders to explore the transformative potential of AI in the museum and cultural sectors. Surrounded by historical military vehicles, we discussed cutting-edge AI applications, debated ethical issues, and collaborated in hands-on sessions to drive innovation. Some key highlights included: - A lively debate on "AI: Friends or Foes", where we took questions from participants and explored the benefits and challenges of AI in museums. - Deborah Howes showing us how AI is and can transform education and learning within museum programs. - R. Michael Pickering CBIP and Kevin McAusaln both made thought-provoking overviews of AI and its fast growing impact on our society. - Ross Parry's closing reflections, should have been recorded, brought an inspiring and positive outlook for the future. - On Day 2, the Hackathon sessions, where participants experimented with AI tools in practice to help with internal operations and to create engaging visitor experiences. A huge thank you to all the incredible speakers: Dr Amy Hetherington, Peter Pavement, Deborah Howes, Ross Parry, R. Michael Pickering CBIP, Sam Richardson, Peter Hussell, Andrew Chernevych, Paul Sapounzi, Chris Giles, MCM, Phil Johnson, Kevin McAusaln... our host Jeremy Neal Blowers and of course to all of the particiants! Special thanks to MUSEUMS CANADA / MUSEES CANADA, Sue Ann Ramsden, and the sponsors for making this event possible: Canadian Tank Museum, Surface Impression, CloudConstable Incorporated, Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 / Musée canadien de l'immigration du Quai 21, Timmins Museum National Exhibition Centre. The AI Think Tank 2024 provided a perfect blend of inspiration and practical insights to help us harness the power of AI responsibly and sustainably. I’m excited to see how the ideas and projects from this event will evolve! #AIThinkTank2024 #ArtificialIntelligence #MuseumsTech #DigitalInnovation #Sustainability #AIforGood

Recently, I had the privilege of documenting Retired Col. Mark Gasparotto’s Gasparotto Group intense ‘Outside the Wire’ leadership training. This immersive experience blends military-style principles with corporate leadership, fostering growth and resilience in a unique and powerful way. After months of anticipation and planning, I thought I had a clear picture of what it would be like—but the reality exceeded all expectations. Truly an unforgettable experience to witness and capture. Watch the video to the end. This is a highly recommended program for any corporation looking for level up their leadership skills. #LeadershipTraining #OutsideTheWire #CorporateLeadership #MilitaryLeadership #MarkGasparotto #LeadershipDevelopment #Photography #DocumentaryPhotography #Inspiration #TeamBuilding #CorporateTraining #ExperientialLearning #TrevorGodinho Nikon Canada Inc. Mission success = 1. Understanding the problem you are trying to solve. 2. Embracing the meritocracy of ideas. 3. Collaborative planning across the team-of-teams. 4. Rehearsals so the muscle memory counter acts any degradation of your senses during chaos. 5. Execution guided by trust and in accordance with your roles and responsibilities. 6. In situ measurements and adjustments. 7. Continuous learning without ego getting in the way. Lakeland crushed the Task Force Challenge by following all the principles listed above. Gasparotto Group is grateful for our partnership with Canadian Tank Museum where we can conduct our Outside the Wire program using tanks and other mechanized assets.
