It’s often overlooked that sound (or no sound) plays a crucial role in the success of video ads. Video is the fastest-growing content for brands, and it’s being used everywhere - from product detail pages to search ads, TikTok, Instagram, streaming TV, and more. While we scroll through TikTok with sound, on a retailer app, the sound is usually off. To make sure your video content resonates with your audience, it’s essential to work with agencies that understand user behavior and the nuances of each platform. For example, take the Persil video ad displayed when searching for “eco-friendly laundry detergent.” at Walmart. In just two seconds, you need to grab your audience’s attention. It's a clever and fun creative video, however, this video was made for a platform with sound on, and it’s difficult to tell what product it’s for within a few seconds and the message gets lost. When the message gets lost, you lose ad dollars. At minimum, sponsored search ad videos should have captions. Our takeaway: it’s important to have multiple versions of your video that you can use across various platforms. What may work well on your website may not work well in a sponsored search post. So, get ahead of the game and invest in video content that considers all platforms. Amazon has introduced a new feature, "Get it by Tomorrow," on its Valentine's Day Hub to assist last-minute shoppers in finding gifts that will arrive in time for the holiday. This feature allows customers in 90 U.S. metro areas with access to same-day delivery to toggle a tile on the hub's page, selecting the "Get It by Tomorrow" option to shop from a curated selection of Valentine's Day gifts.
