One Project is pleased to announce Aaron Tanaka as its new Co-Director, helping to lead our work to nurture a just transition toward a regenerative economy. “We are profoundly honored to have Aaron join the One Project Team,” says Founder and Co-Director Justin Rosenstein. “His leadership is characterized by a deep blend of theory and practice that has helped foster an exciting and highly influential ecosystem in the Boston area. We are so fortunate to have the chance to work alongside Aaron in pursuit of our shared goal: to dream of a world beyond capitalism, and build shared steps toward that future, today.” Aaron joins One Project after co-founding the Center for Economic Democracy (CED) in Boston, MA. Under his leadership, CED stewarded initiatives to fund and support collectives working on alternatives to capitalist economics in the US. He also helped launch the Boston Ujima Project, the first community-controlled loan fund in the U.S., focused on returning wealth to working-class communities of color. Prior to this, Aaron has a storied background in organizing with groups such as the Boston Workers Alliance (BWA) and the Participatory Budgeting Project. His work with these groups supported innovative new programs such as a pilot participatory budgeting program for the City of Boston and hard-fought policy wins like the “Ban the Box” law in Massachusetts. “One Project’s approach as both a funder and programmatic partner brings exciting opportunities, particularly given the group’s background in building technology,” says Aaron. “I am deeply grateful for my time serving with CED as its co-founder and Executive Director. The relationships and programs we developed there taught me so much about the challenges and opportunities in the pursuit of a world beyond capitalism. I look forward to bringing those insights to the One Project team.”
关于我们
We believe in a future that is free, fair, and flourishing for all. Together with communities who are inspired to break away from failed and oppressive economic systems, our work is to help the world imagine what comes after capitalism, then foster the collaborations needed to create it. We work both as an operating non-profit and a giving foundation, to support this work and the wider ecosystem in which it may thrive.
