Happy International Gibbon Day! We wanted to give everyone an update and announce a matching donation up to 5,000 USD today on International Gibbon Day! Our multimedia film wrapped up its third and final location this year in China! Thus we move onto fundraising for post-production after 5 years of expeditions. We have accounted for pick up shoots and XR but we hope to receive funding to focus on editing, animation, music and of course impact production. We have a lot of work to do and want to thank everyone that has got us this far! We have a very kind longterm donor that would like to match up to 5,000 USD to help us update our fundraising materials for this new phase including a new teaser including our work from 2021 in Siberut and Borneo as well as Yunnan, China. We believe our film is important and unique in celebrating and protecting gibbons as it highlights perspectives of three Indigenous families living with gibbons and the rainforests of Asia. 19 of 20 gibbon species are Critically Endangered and Endangered according to the @redlist_of_ecosystems and Indigenous knowledge and stories are also endangered. If we do not support our characters and partners we will also rapidly lose that as well.
