There’s a lot of misinformation about the U.S. Department of Education—let’s clear up some of it. ???? Here are four common myths and the facts you need to know!

Last Wednesday, OneGoal hosted our second annual Pathways of Promise Luncheon presented by our partners at ExxonMobil. It was an honor to sit in a room full of those committed to the mission to transform postsecondary advising and, ultimately, Texas students’ lives. As we gathered together, we celebrated the achievements of OneGoal and its district partners from this past year, including expanding OneGoal’s impact beyond Houston to rural communities across the state of Texas. We also looked ahead to the growth and expansion that is quickly approaching and the work yet to be done. We had a handful of very special guests join us for the programming including a performance by one of our incredible Year 2 Fellows, Alyssa Dorsey. Cary Wright of Good Reason Houston and Tyra Walker from Spring Branch ISD joined me for an insightful panel discussion on the postsecondary landscape. And we highlighted OneGoal alumni Bryan Aguilar, who I recently caught up with to hear how OneGoal helped him achieve his career goal of becoming a radiation therapist with MD Anderson. Bryan is the walking testament to the impact our work has on students’ lives and our community. To everyone who joined us, thank you for your support in empowering every student to discover their full potential and define their own future.
